Blogging and Madonna, Madonna and Blogging... it just doesn’t roll off my tongue very well. Blogging can be brutal for me, as I’m not sure what to write sometimes and who wants to actually read my babble anyway. However here I am, and the reason I am is because it’s a huge part of social media and my life now. Yet it’s not one of my strongest talents.
When I went back to school for marketing I had to write so much that I thought I was getting pretty good at this stuff; better than what I had been, that’s for sure. Yet it still feels unnatural for me. I would like to take this time to apologies for my spelling and grammatical errors; please accept my apologies.
Writing is a huge part of social media, so here I am with my boots on for the whole world to see. One of my favorite series was/is Sex in The City and often wish in my head that I could stage life-like Carrie does for her column. In the show Carrie is a writer and writing is what she loves; she’s comfortable in that world and from what we can see very successful.
Of course New York City would give most of us plenty of things to talk about and to write about, it’s just a great place with so much to see and do. I’m sure I’d be inspired all day long. Now, not to say that I am not inspired to write; heck, I’m pulling from years of experience and as I have been in food service for over 20 years I have been in plenty of restaurants all over the place. In the Phoenix metro area there is a lot going on all the time as well, you just have to look for it and then drive to it.
As this is 2010 and the New Years Resolution thing is fresh on everyone’s mind I guess now would be a good time to make a writing commitment to blog at least once a week, if I want to or not, and incorporate that with specific segments related to the food service industry.
I, Madonna Kash swear to blog at least once a week, 52 times a year for 2010.
Not swear while blogging.. swear to blogging..
I will still be combing the Internet for ideas, however, will use those in everyday surrounding to inspire me. I had made a new years resolution last year that I would do what it took, stepping out of my comfort zone to get what I wanted which is to work with restaurant operators to help improve their marketing; it that meant me witting, so be it. This also means me getting in front of a camera and podcasting too and you know what? I’m doing it.
If you always did what you always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. With social media, we all have to step outside of our comfort zone. It’s all new to us and in order to be successful at it you have to do things you never would have thought you would do. For some, this is a natural fit; for others, we’re going to have to work at it.
I like this picture for a few reasons; one is of course what a great place to be if you can let your mind go there. It’s taken at one of my favorite times of the year, fall as you can see the leaves on the trees are changing colors. I would need an extension cord as I need to get a new laptop battery which isn’t going to happen until I’m ready for a new laptop. What cracks me up is the way he has his head tilted, does he have writers block? Looks like it to me which gives me a nice reality check; even in the most relaxing setting like this you can still be stumped as to what to say.
Cheers to 2010, a new way of thinking and to you for reading this! Thank you to say the least.
